For Knox County Commissioner
A lifelong Knox County man running on faith, family, and common sense. His father served this district. Now it's his turn.
Matt Hoffman is a lifelong Knox County resident who grew up on a farm in northern Knox County. His father Jerry was once the largest strawberry farmer in Indiana and spent years serving District 3 as the road superintendent — a man who knew every mile of road and every family along them. That's the kind of public service Matt grew up watching, and the kind he intends to deliver.
"I spent many hours riding with my father, learning about listening to the community and landowners about roads, culverts, and bridges. That never left me."— Matt Hoffman
At 54, Matt calls Bicknell home. He serves as pastor at Mariah Creek Christian Church alongside his wife Julie. Together they have four grown daughters, two sons-in-law, and are proud grandparents — with another grandchild on the way.
This is Matt's first run for public office. He's not a career politician. He's a pastor, a farmer's son, and a neighbor who believes Knox County deserves a commissioner who actually listens.
"As a Christian, I want to bring honesty and integrity into the local political arena."— Matt Hoffman
Growing up riding alongside his father — the District 3 road superintendent — Matt learned firsthand that well-maintained roads, bridges, and culverts are the backbone of rural life. They're how farmers get to market, families get to school, and emergency responders reach people in need. Matt will put real investment into the infrastructure District 3 depends on every day.
Matt's platform is simple: show up, listen, and represent. Not developers, not political allies — the people of District 3. He wants to be a true representative who hears concerns before decisions are made, brings neighbors together, and leads with the kind of conviction that comes from knowing exactly who you serve and why.
County government should operate in the open. Every major decision made with full public input. No backroom deals, no outside interests calling the shots. Residents have a right to know what their county is doing and why. Matt will bring honesty and integrity back to the commissioner's office — and keep it there.
Knox County taxpayers work hard for every dollar. Matt believes their commissioner should treat county money with the same care — finding practical savings, cutting waste, and making sure every expenditure has a clear benefit to the people of District 3. Smart budgeting isn't optional. It's the job.
As pastor at Mariah Creek Christian Church, Matt brings a deep sense of purpose to public life. His faith isn't something he sets aside when he walks into a room — it's the foundation everything else is built on. He'll always choose what's right over what's politically convenient.
A commissioner should be reachable year-round, not just at election time. Matt will show up at community events, return calls, and engage directly with the people of District 3. Public service is not a title — it's a commitment to the people who entrust it to you.
The men and women who serve Knox County deserve to know their families are covered. Matt is committed to establishing comprehensive family health insurance for all county employees.
Knox County shaped Matt Hoffman long before he ever thought about running for office. It's where he learned that a good leader drives the back roads at night to check on a washed-out culvert. Where he watched his father shake hands with every farmer along District 3 and actually remember their names. Where public service wasn't a career — it was just what you did for your neighbors.
For years Matt has quietly done that same work as pastor at Mariah Creek Christian Church. No campaign signs. No ballot. Just showing up — for families in hard times, for neighbors who needed someone to listen, for a community he genuinely loves.
That's what brought him to this race. Not ambition. Not politics. Knox County is at a crossroads, and Matt believes the people of District 3 deserve someone at that table who has spent his entire life earning their trust — not just asking for their vote.
"Knox County doesn't need politicians. It needs people who know this place, love this place, and are willing to fight for it."— Matt Hoffman
Knox County is more than a place on a map. It's a community of families, farmers, and neighbors built over generations. Matt Hoffman's commitment as commissioner is to protect what makes this county worth fighting for — and to make sure every decision puts Knox County people first, not outside interests.
Knox County ranks 2nd in Indiana for total farmland. Our agricultural heritage is not a bargaining chip. Matt will fight to keep productive farmland in the hands of the families who built this county, and ensure any development prioritizes marginal land over prime agricultural acres.
Property owners deserve a real seat at the table — not rubber-stamped decisions made by outside interests. Matt will ensure Knox County families have a genuine voice before anything is approved that affects their land, their homes, or their quality of life.
Growth is welcome when it comes with real accountability — strong protections, transparent processes, and developers who are fully on the hook for what they build. Responsible development and community protection are not opposites, and Matt won't treat them as if they are.
Our rural emergency responders need adequate resources and safe conditions to do their jobs. Any project that comes into Knox County needs to fully account for the safety of the people who live here — and the first responders who serve them.
Clean water, healthy soil, and protected natural resources aren't political issues — they're a legacy we owe to the next generation. Matt will not allow Knox County's natural heritage to be degraded for short-term gain by interests that won't be here to deal with the consequences.
Decisions that affect Knox County families should never happen behind closed doors. Matt will demand full transparency at every step — real public meetings, genuine public input, and a commissioner who actually shows up and answers questions from the people he serves.
Our 600+ member coalition is proud to stand behind Matt Hoffman for Knox County Commissioner District 3. Matt represents what this county needs — a leader driven by faith, integrity, and a genuine love for this community. He believes landowners and taxpayers deserve a seat at the table, not decisions made behind closed doors.
